How it Works

On the home screen of the Roadie driver app, look for the “Auto Match” toggle in the top right corner of the map. Simply switch the toggle to “On” to start receiving delivery opportunities!

When the toggle is switched “On”, the algorithm will find Gigs near you that match your vehicle type, location, experience level, and certifications. The app will display Gigs that you can immediately accept or decline, so you don’t have to offer on Gigs and wait to be accepted.

Need to step away from your screen? No problem at all. If you exit the Roadie app while Auto Match is turned on, you’ll still be notified of fresh Gig opportunities via push notifications, ensuring you never miss a great trip.

To maximize earnings, you can also keep the Auto Match feature turned on while you’re delivering – the app will look for additional Gigs that fit into your route. Read this blog about Add-On Gigs for more information!

Drive Your Way: Ultimate Flexibility

While using the Roadie app, you are always in the driver’s seat. We know flexibility is key, so we want you to use the app in whatever way works best for your objectives.

• Toggle anytime: You can turn Auto Match on or off whenever you choose. Turn it on when you want fast matches, and turn it off when you’re done for the day.
• Keep it traditional: Prefer browsing the map for the perfect Gig? You can still offer on Gigs directly from the map.

Do:

• Take a wide angle shot so you can see both the item(s) and the spot where the items were left at the delivery location.
• Show some location details if you can’t take the picture with the house number (front porch decor, welcome mat, etc.)
• If the recipient takes the package directly from you, always try to capture a house number or a picture of the front of the house with the items before handing them off to verify that you arrived at the correct location. 

Don’t:

• Don’t take a picture of the items inside your vehicle. If the sender can’t see details of the delivery location, clearly it is not an acceptable photo.
• Don’t take photos of personal customer information, such as names, addresses or phone numbers found on the label or item.
• Don’t include recipients in your photo — it’s weird for everyone. Even more importantly, we respect recipients’ privacy.

RoadieXD Blocks allow drivers to take control of their schedules, unlock pre-set minimum guaranteed earnings and simplify the daily hustle. Scheduling on your own time means you can plan ahead, boost productivity and enjoy a more rewarding driving experience.

What Are RoadieXD Blocks? 

RoadieXD Blocks are pre-scheduled time frames, usually lasting between six to eight hours, during which drivers pick up multiple Gigs from a RoadieXD warehouse. Instead of offering on individual Gigs, drivers are automatically matched with Gigs for the duration of the Block. New Blocks are released every Wednesday for the upcoming week, so keep an eye out for more chances to earn each week. 

Unlike normal RoadieXD Routes, which are typically single, fixed routes assigned at one time, RoadieXD Blocks have multiple Gigs that may vary throughout the scheduled time period. This means that you continue receiving new Gigs as you complete deliveries, rather than completing one route and waiting on another offer. 

Blocks are designed to maximize efficiency and keep you moving. The ability to schedule your driving time in advance not only adds a level of predictability to your day, but also empowers you to manage your time more effectively.

Each Roadie XD Block includes a flat rate Earnings Guarantee, giving you a clear understanding of how much you’ll make before you even start your engine. This Earnings Guarantee means you can plan ahead, set clear earning goals, and have greater control over both your time and income. It takes away the uncertainty and stress that can come from unpredictable daily payouts, ensuring that slower days won’t catch you off guard.

If you earn more than the minimum during your Block, you keep the extra—there’s no cap on your potential. But if your earnings fall short, Roadie will issue a payment adjustment to make up the difference after the Block is completed so that you receive the total amount of the Earnings Guarantee.

Drivers who are eligible for RoadieXD Blocks can access the Block scheduler from the main menu. Here, you can browse and sign up for available Blocks, join a waitlist if a Block is full or cancel a scheduled Block if your plans change.

Why Mailbox Delivery Isn’t an Option

Only the U.S. Postal Service can place items inside a mailbox. In fact, it’s a federal offense for anyone other than USPS workers to deliver items to a mailbox. Even if the recipient requests it, placing items in a mailbox as an independent delivery driver is never allowed under any circumstances. By avoiding mailbox delivery, drivers using Roadie can help limit confusion for both USPS workers and Gig recipients.

Easy and Safe Alternatives to Mailbox Delivery

Although delivering to mailboxes is prohibited, there are plenty of great options for safe placement. It’s always best to leave items somewhere that’s both secure and easy for the recipient to find. Here are some best practices when delivering a Gig:

• Double-check the delivery notes: Recipients often use the delivery notes to specify exactly where a Gig should be left. It’s important to read all delivery instructions and details before dropping off a Gig.
• Use natural shelter: Look for porches, awnings or covered entryways to place packages. This can also help protect items from rainy weather.
• Place packages out of street view: Ensuring items are out of public view but still accessible and easy to find for the recipient is always best. Areas such as behind pillars, furniture, or wide railings without making it difficult for the recipient to see can minimize the risk of theft.
• Communicate where items were delivered: Drivers are required to take pictures of all items contained in the Gig at the delivery location. Your delivery photo should clearly provide proof that the Gig was delivered to the right location. If a Gig was handed directly to the recipient but requires a delivery photo, do not take a photo of the recipient. Instead, take a photo of the delivery location and include a Delivery Note that says “handed directly to recipient.”

Remember, if your delivery photos are not clear, you may be held liable for any loss, damage or theft to any items in the Gig, and Roadie may withhold your payment for the Gig while any claim for loss, damage or theft to the Gig is investigated.

Improved Block History

You can now find more comprehensive details for each scheduled Block you complete in your Gig History. This includes the Block’s duration, the number of stops, and a full breakdown of your total earnings. You’ll see your earnings organized by:

• Gig earnings
• Pay adjustments
• Tips
• Expense reimbursements

Additionally, the Block details will display information for every Gig you completed during the Block.

View Account Credits Easily

We’ve also made it simpler to see your account credits. Within your Gig History, you can now clearly view both pending and completed credits. Any pending credits will be applied to your balance after you complete your next Gig.

Grouping Multiple Deliveries to the Same Recipient

Delivering multiple items to the same recipient just got a whole lot easier. You’ll now only need to take one delivery photo and collect one signature (when applicable) for all items being delivered to the same location. With this updated feature, you can complete deliveries more efficiently, saving valuable time and effort.

Pro Tip: This improvement is especially helpful as more multi-stop Gigs become available on the app. You’ll be able to complete these routes with less hassle and more speed, making your day smoother and more productive.

Provide Feedback for Gigs on the Map

You can now provide feedback for Gigs that you see on the map. Maybe you’d prefer a Gig with fewer stops, or a Gig that doesn’t involve toll routes – now you have the ability to share your thoughts directly with us without having to offer on the Gig. This new feature allows you to voice your concerns about Gigs you choose not to offer on, giving our team valuable insights to improve the overall driver experience.

Pro Tip: Don’t hesitate to share your feedback! Your input helps us refine the app and create better opportunities for all drivers.

View Your Certifications in One Place

You can now view all the certifications you’ve earned and any certifications you’re eligible to complete all in one central location. Simply click on “Certifications & Badges” in the main menu of the Roadie app and easily monitor your progress or unlock new opportunities.

Pro Tip: Check back regularly to see if there are any new certifications you can earn to expand your delivery opportunities and boost your earnings.

Add-On Gigs leverage Roadie’s algorithm to find extra Gigs that may fit into your current route. If there’s a good match, you’ll get a pop-up notification inviting you to accept or decline the Add-On Gig.

How It Works

Here’s how simple it is to start making the most of Add-On Gigs:

1. Enable Add-On Gigs: Activate the feature by tapping the toggle button in the top left corner of the map in the Roadie app.
2. Receive Notifications: While you’re on an active Gig, the Roadie algorithm searches for other Gigs in the same direction you’re heading, sending you instant notifications when it finds a potential match.
3. Accept or Decline: Accept the ones that work for you, and skip those that don’t—no penalties, no pressure. Tap “Accept” if you want to take the Add-On Gig. To decline, you can tap the “X” or just ignore the prompt.

Flexibility and Control

You’re always in the driver’s seat when it comes to deciding which Gigs to take on. There’s no pressure to accept every Add-On Gig that comes your way, and you’ll never be penalized for declining Add-On Gigs.

You can turn the feature on or off at any time based on your preferences and schedule. This flexibility allows you to optimize your driving time without compromising on convenience or safety.
